| This photo was taken October 10, 2004 at Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton, Michigan. We had been out enjoying the park, run by Michigan State University, and we were just about ready to sit down and have lunch. I was putting the camera away as I approached the picnic area when I noticed this insect sitting on the flower. It was very patient with me as I moved in to take several photos. Then, I left it in peace and hoped that I had not disturbed it much. I think that the insect is an Ailanthus Webworm Moth (Atteva Punctella). This photo was one of my first big hits amongst my fans (my family and wife), and continues to be a favorite of ours. |
