This photo was taken February 2007. Standing atop the 180-foot tall bridge, completed in 1935, we were given quite the view. The water below us was moving very quickly, at a max speed of 7 knots, causing the ripples in the water that look like ice to me. It seemed pretty crowed there and as you crossed the bridge we would have to turn sideways to let people pass. A move that felt pretty uncomfortable as the support of the cold railing was not much comfort that high up.
Someone claimed to see two bald eagles sitting off to the side, but unfortunately I did not get a good look. |
