I took this photo in the fall of 2006,  It was early November, and the colors were nearing their end.  I was nearing the end of my hike, and I decided to go a tad further and check out the old dam.  I walked onto the trail (slightly to the left of this photo) and this is what I saw.  The sun was pretty low even though it was still around 3:00 pm, and a wood pecker drilled away in the dark foreground tree (not visible in the photo).  The woodpecker was the only other sound on this calm weekday in the Park, and no one else was nearby.
