| On a trip to Death Valley National Park, we came across this amazing spot that sits just above of Stovepipe Wells called Mosaic Canyon. The entrance to this canyon seems relatively standard for the area, but upon entering you will quickly see it is anything but. The canyon is a deep tight path of steep curvy walls that are made up of layers of smooth polished marble and a composite of small jagged pieces of seemingly unrelated rock. In some spots the rougher composite layers looked a lot like concrete holding the whole place together. Eventually the canyon opened up and we followed a path along a small ridge to see if it would present us with any other views, but nothing could quite compare to what we had just passed and what we would eventually have to head back through. |
